RedHat acquired Ceph, a “full storage solution” that “runs on commodity hardware” meaning that I think I might be able to pool my drives from all my old computers. I really need to look into this. It comes highly recommended by many.
But there is also OpenEBS from Amazon that has a more opensource model.
