One of the most joyous moments of 2020 was realizing that most of the critical parameter expansions that I had learned from Bash (in that same year) have always been supported in POSIX shell. I also felt like a fool that I never learned that in the decade of writing shell scripts for IBM. At least I learned it before dying.
